Sunday, January 7th A typical day in a life... Well... last night, I never made it back to the hotel, and Nelson and I never went out partying in San Francisco. Instead, we had IN-N-OUT burgers for dinner which weren't so good this time, and then it hit me. I needed to SLEEP ASAP. I guess all the running around was finally catching up me such that by the time we got back into the car, I was keeled over on my lap with my head wedged in between the door handle and arm rest of the door, fast asleep within minutes. Advantages of being a relatively SMALL woman. Nelson thought I was getting sick when actually, I was just so #&*%! tired. Somehow I remember him driving us back to his place, and the next thing I remembered was waking up at 3:30 a.m. on his bed while he was crashed out in the living room. So I got up, took a shower, dragged him to his bed, shut the bedroom door and then worked on his computer until dawn. But of course. I was thankful for the fact that I could send out the Email Bulletin late that morning (1 a.m. Monday morning, Taipei time) because otherwise I was to be in the air during the time that it normally should be published and we would be late once again. That would be completely unacceptable.

We had to stop through the Airport Hotel so that I could return the keys (how silly) and then went through check-in without a problem. I kept apologizing to Nelson for being so rude and passing out like I did last night, but all he wanted to know was whether or not I'd volunteer to give up my seat again should the flight be overbooked again. SHEESH Nelson! NO! I need to get back to Taipei, understand?! He said, "But Christine, for US$800 to stay another day in San Francisco? HECK I'D DO IT." Well. I suppose that's one way to make a living. The flight home was relatively uneventful. I worked (edited printouts of my site, am not happy with a lot of my writing) during the entire flight to Narita and was horizontal pretty much from that point on. Northwest doesn't fly direct, so the last leg to Taipei was particularly painful.
![]() I haven't been through Narita since United established direct flights to Taipei from the West Coast (which had to have been at least 10 years ago) and was a little surprised that nothing much has changed there though I wasn't sure what I was expecting. I got back to my apartment around 11 p.m. and was happy to be home. Short entry today.
As an aside, it takes so little time for me to write up an entry like this. Fifteen minutes perhaps? I can't wait to finish configuring the rest of this site and turning the #&*%! thing on. I'm starting to get annoyed with it. Now it is Monday night, January 8th. I gain a day coming back.
