I actually inspired myself last night...

As I was walking home last night, I was wondering to myself how I was going to mass email my friends and tell them about this website once I launch it. Should I push the idea of it being a "Taipei Gossip Corner of sorts"? Well, it isn't exactly that, plus it sounds too trivial, although it would probably generate a lot of initial interest. Should I simply say, "Hey check out my personal site!" Nah, way too boring. Actually that sounds downright STUPID, and it would hardly accomplish what I want it to accomplish.

And then I thought, why don't I write a press release. THAT'S IT. Write my OWN press release for my OWN personal website which talks about ME and MY many little projects... how much more retarded can I get?! I LOVE THAT IDEA. I have written exactly three press releases in my entire life. One for CAPT, one for IPO, and one for ORIENTED.

How could I NOT write one for HeyChristine.com. Enough said.

1-minute elevator pitches...

On a somewhat related topic, I fell upon this feature article on the Fast Company website about how to sharpen your elevator pitching skills. Some of the information is helpful in general, but I would never, ever, even so much as attempt to pitch my business to a random person in an elevator.

As far as I'm concerned, finding the right investor is no different than looking for that right job. It is a mutually beneficial relationship in so much as I need YOU as much as you need ME. There shall be no begging involved. When I look for a job, the last thing I'm going to do is throw myself in front of a VP of HR just because his business card says "VP of HR". For all I know, he could be a totally incompetent moron recruiting for an incredibly lousy company. Same holds true for VCs.

Let's inspire each other, shall we?!

Today was entirely too boring. I connected with Bone (he was sober) and he gave me the thumbs up to showcase last Saturday's little "conversation" we had at Hooters, the weather was excellent so I went over to get a Hot Dog on a Stick at Warners, but for the most part I spent whatever free time I had writing up the rest of the background material for this website. I was pretty much in my tunnel the entire time.

Yesterday I shot off an email to Jenny asking for permission to profile her on my site, as Mike requested that I have everyone sign disclaimers (ugh). Jenny wrote back telling me that I inspire her with all that I do with the Internet. This follows a previous email she had sent out the day before telling everyone about her participating in the 26-mile New York City Marathon with her beau. RIGHT Jenny.

I gotta get back to the gym ASAP!
