Friday, November 10th Starting off on the wrong foot...
Once we accept things we cannot change... I had purchased a ticket home on Delta using the Travelocity.com website and wasn't all that happy with the departure times to begin with. 24 hours later, I get a message that there's been a change in schedule and that I need to call and reschedule. RIGHT. Like that's a priority for me. So I put that off for a week until I got another message from the Delta office in Taipei. Somehow, they had tracked down my home phone number and left a message for me there. Scary.
So I finally called this morning, and after going back and forth for what seemed like forever, my only choice was to route through - get this - CINCINNATI. Even worse, it's a FOUR HOUR stop over. And even worse than that, it's on my birthday. Yet another disadvantage of being a Christmas baby. I have been on a plane on my birthday every year for the past 10 years of my life. And that, my friends, SUCKS.
The website, service, or product displayed here is used and/or endorsed by Yours Truly. Then it got much better. I got in this morning to find a totally awesome email from Gus. He fell upon a really simple HTML code that puts some special effects to your webpage, and that did it. I was there. I played around with the various effects for what seemed like hours, and all the while kept laughing at it. It's all kind of corny, because all of a sudden it makes my journal entries seem like t.v. comedies, which by the way, they are NOT.
Then, my laptop died. I had to put the thing to rest after the screen dimmed to a low minimum. It actually still works quite well but it's too much of a hassle to take it in and get it fixed, so instead, I whipped out my Uncle Michael's old AcerNote that he let me borrow from last year. That thing is HEAVY, but it will do for now. I most definitely like the feel of the keyboard, and the fact that it doesn't use a mouse. Still, I wouldn't mind one of those Acer Travelmates... Other than that, it's been a relatively uneventful evening. It is still raining and has been for the last week and a half. Laurie, Adella and I grabbed dinner across the street, and I spent the rest of the night working on the ORIENTED site and my own. Boring, eh?
