Saturday, November 11th And it is still raining... So far it's been a pretty uneventful day except that I have LOADS of energy and am plugging away at the missing sections of this website. I got up this morning, flipped on my Romeo Must Die CD, and cleaned up my room. Corrina and Alvin had given me that CD player as a gift a few years back and I've really enjoyed having it. It makes me think of them whenever I use it. I miss them. Anyway, I went out and grabbed myself a cup of latte from Starbucks and am now plugging away at my computer. I shot off an email to Mike to see if he'd be up for some MJ later on tonight. We haven't played in ages, and it's one of those rainy Saturdays where a good game of MJ would be fun. Sure enough, he was at work, but unfortunately for me he already had plans. I'm the only one around here without a life. Tommy stopped by in the afternoon to say hello. Apparently his company had a booth at the Exhibition Hall, so I got him to look at my digital camera for me.
I'll end today's entry with a conversation that I had with Gus the other day that I keep forgetting to record. I do that often, add entries into my journals from days past. It's pretty funny. See below.

Keep in mind that whenever he takes the time to come down and tell me something, it's usually pretty important and requires my undivided attention, which I always give to him. Well with a few exceptions of course (see previous entries).
![]() While I've been working away on this killer marketing plan, he's been finalizing the online Yellow Page database, the last major component for the .ORG site which we have been very, very excited about. It's almost done except for the problem with disk space. It's huge. He had called me a few days before and asked me to visit a site called Space Boards that he was checking out which offers free hosting services, and on that day he came down to show me some of the stuff he's been doing with it so I'll know where to fill in the blanks.
Here was our conversation. We were pretty serious at the beginning. Gus: "Hey Chris, have you checked out that host site I mentioned?" Me: "Sorry Gus, I haven't gotten to it yet." Gus: "No problem, can we take a quick look at it now?" Me: "Sure." So we both attentively faced my computer screen, and I opened up a new Internet Explorer browser and typed --> www.spaceboards.com Gus: "Gyosh! Chris, it's SpacePORTS, not SpaceBOARDS." Me (making the correction): "Oh oops. Sorry." Gus (smiles): "I guess you have NOT checked out the site yet huh?!" Me (dignified): "Gus. I just told you I haven't." Gus apparently had put a sample database of our Yellow Pages to test out some of the services they offered and wanted to show me some sections which I'll need to help him with, mostly text script write-ups on certain pages. Gus: "Okay, please type www dot spaceports dot com, slash, tilda." So I typed --> www.spaceports.com/tilda Gus (stunned): "No Chris, tilda tilda, you know the tilda sign." Me (snickering): "Gus what the heck is Tilda?! Some woman from your past?" Gus (getting frustrated): "Tilda Tilda!" Me (starting to giggle): "WHO... IS... TILDA?" Gus (hyperventilating): Gyosh! The little squiggly sign, the approximate sign?!!" Me (I finally get it): "Oh!! Well how the heck was I suppose to know THAT." Gus (his favorite word is gyosh): "Gyosh! Chris! Every web designer lived off of tildas before the Internet became really big, I can't believe you don't know what a tilda is! Gyosh!"
I was about to REMIND him that everything I know or do not know about web designs is because of him and that I never claimed to be a web design guru, but I refrained. Instead, I just gave him my Prue look.

Of course, of all people to know what the technical terminology is for the little squiggly sign, it would be Gus. And then, for once, with him standing next to me and me in my chair, we both stopped talking for a moment, bowed our heads down, and laughed. It is a rare moment that Gus and I find humor in the same things at the same time, but on that day, it finally happened. We had to take a little breather from it all and get it out of our system before we could get serious again. And by the way, for the record, it's spelled T-I-L-D-E and looks like this: ~
