At the movies...

Last night, Acer Ginny and I went to see the Taiwanese movie "Hidden Whisper" that Mingson was promoting on ORIENTED. We first met at the Benetton on Chung-Hsiao and Tun-Hwa, and since she was late, I bought a pair of pants. I absolutely hate shopping for clothes, wait, I hate shopping in general as it's such a WASTE of my time, but on the occasion that I'm near a store and need to kill time I'll pop in to see what's up.

Ginny shows up, and we head down to the MRT. Guess whom we run into there. Michael, Chris, and Richard from Q-East. So we headed over together while Ginny tries to push CAPT Christmas formal tickets on them. Lol. She is Ms. Queen of PR. I am so not surprised that she landed herself in the GM's office reporting directly to Stan Shih. Ginny is responsible for worldwide communications for Acer's global offices and is the epitome of whom we target at ORIENTED. Young, aggressive, movers and shakers of Asia's future but let me stop here before this website turns into a HeyGinny.com rollover.

At the Majestic Theater in Hsimenting, we ran into Mingson who was at the ticket counter greeting everyone. She looked GREAT. Always does. Yet another FUTURE LEADER OF ASIA (somebody hit me). Mingson is the only "ABC" who works for Central Motion Picture Productions, the same film company that produced "Eat Drink Man Woman" and the "Wedding Banquet". And she makes things happen there. I only wished I had the time to go into details but suffice it to say that she BRIDGES LOTS OF GAPS in that company and in its overall impact in the Taiwan film industry. This movie would not have been available with English subtitles for the international community had it not been for her. Also, she convinced the director, Vivian Chang, to speak to the audience after the showing about her thoughts on the movie, which was WAY COOL.

The movie was great, nominated for the Camera d'Or award for cinematography at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Most definitely worth seeing.
