Tuesday, November 21th To be or not to be an attorney... How do I summarize the day? Well, gee, how about, I was exhausted! Work is picking up, and during my free time I've been focusing on the disclaimers and the press section of this site. Several people have told me that I should have been a lawyer given the way I write professionally when I'm PISSED (haha), and yes I've made at least one friend sign a contract (ahem... Cindy!) years ago to ensure that she does not reveal my deepest, darkest secrets but the fact of the matter is, I'd KILL MYSELF if I had to be a lawyer. It baffles me that people would pay tons of money to go to school to become a lawyer. Not that I'm knocking the profession but if I had to be one, I'd be one unhappy person. I can barely read the fine lines much less in between them! HOWEVER. For my own personal site, I am as diligent as I need to be to ensure that I am not putting myself at legal risk just because I'm trying to raise awareness for ORIENTED. So for what it's worth, take a gander. Each and every word was reviewed by Yours Truly.
The thing that irritates me the most about lawyers, I think, is that I actually understand what they're saying (well usually). I can never argue with Mike because what he says is usually in the best interest of me and my future company and for that reason alone, I have to respect the profession (darn it). Anyway, enough about lawyers.

I started out thinking that I would have just one link on the page, to the press release I will be using to announce the launch of this site. But then I remembered a couple of interviews I've had in the past, and the next thing I knew, I had a pretty decent list of press coverage. I guess I never took it seriously because I get the impression that it's pretty easy to get 'noticed' around here. It's a developing region, anyone making any kind of stride in a developing area will get some attention, warranted or not. Be an "English-speaking female dotcom entrepreneur in Asia" and people will start asking you for interviews, even if you don't know what you're doing (which I most certainly do not and I'm not afraid to admit it). I hadn't realized it myself until recently because the only thing I cared about was ORIENTED, but I kept getting random interview requests and at one point turned them down just because I was too busy. Now that I've clued in (hello Christine when opportunity knocks, open the door please), I am proactively EMBRACING the moment and so the point I am making here is, I'm WORKIN' IT with all I've got! Maybe this will inspire other women entrepreneurs to do their thing out here in "Asia".
![]() Introducing... the Babes of Taipei that KICK ASS:
Andrea: 100% fluent in Spanish, English, Taiwanese, and Mandarin... stunning!
Later on this evening I met up with Acer Ginny, Ginny, and Barbara to attend the StarTV launch party at the NYNY Mall. Acer Ginny's friend Stephen's girlfriend Joann works for the company (did you get that) so we were able to get tickets. Andrea, who was there for work, joined us later. It was OKAY if you like localized Donny & Marie variety shows, and I did get to see David Wu (he's so cute!) just before I took off. I had to leave early to get back to work and BOY do I regret that because look what the girls did after I left -->
Like I said, the show was OKAY, but I think what was FAR more amusing was the exchange of emails that occurred between us girls earlier today when Acer Ginny first sent the invite. It had to do with the "huge silver man" and "sucking ass" vs. kissing ass, but I shan't disclose the owners of those words... to protect the innocent of course.
