Saturday, November 25th What to do on a bright, Saturday morning?

Last time was off for a 24-hour rendezvous to New York City from D.C. back in '98 I think and that was a total blast. I L-O-V-E New York! Lisa and I planned a little trip for the weekend and Nelson happened to call me on my cell just as we were walking out the door. I gave him 2 minutes to decide whether or not he wanted to join us, and so he did. Smart boy. On the way, we were stuck in traffic when we noticed ANNE in the car in front of us going to the office on a Saturday morning, so I literally jumped out on the street, ran up to her, jumped into her car and said, "Anne, you're coming with US." Dumbfounded though she was, she promptly joined the club. Of course we had to go back to her place so that she could get her stuff and of all things she lived in the same complex as Nelson, but heck, we were going to stay with Justin in NYC and aren't they a happily married couple today?!
![]() Here is the traditional photo from the beach. It was great though slightly trashed as it looked like a storm went through recently, but nonetheless we found our little spot and crashed. The resort area was closed so we had to swing a right from the Fulung Train Station and go to the other side where Carol, Laurie and I used to go all the time. Aside from 3 surfers, we were the only ones there. I definitely needed that. Poor Nelson, he was totally wiped, lol...
Evening affairs... I took Nelson to Mae Nam Thai Food, an all-you-can-eat Thai restaurant that serves really great stuff. Sherman introduced me to that place just before he moved back to the bay area. I was never a big fan of Thai food back in the U.S., but after I got to Taiwan, Thai food all of a sudden got really tasty. Asian food in Asia is so much better than Asian food anywhere else in the world no matter how you slice it.
Acer Ginny met us there, and then we took off for Janet U.'s going away party at O'Ginny's, an Irish pub back behind the Sherwood Hotel. That was a lot of fun. I've come to the conclusion that Janet knows more women in this town than anyone else I know. Unfortunately I did not have either camera with me (my digital camera was maxed out and my 35mm was out of film) but hopefully Acer Ginny can send me some when she gets hers developed. Nelson had a grand 'ole time too, i.e., I was home by midnight, and Nelson followed 7.5 hours later, cough cough...

He was leaving that night for a two-week trip to the U.S. to check out b-schools, so I was hoping that he could make me one or two banners for this website, thinking that I was going to launch it while he was away. ALRIGHT SO I KNEW HE WAS BUSY, but I've seen him make banners before and I know he can whip one up in 3 minutes or less, so I figured it would be okay.
![]() A couple of hours later, he began making banners for me and when he is in the moooood to make banners, he gets on a rrrroll. HEY I ADMITTED THAT I TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HIM, OKAY?! He was sending me samples through AOL Instant Messenger and I kept hinting in a 'Christine' sort of way (i.e. bluntly) that they needed a little help until finally he was sending me files named benicetothecopywriter468x60.gif. Anyone who understood that filename will do what I did, and that is, LOL. I regret not saving that chat discussion we had... darn!

Obviously, the second of the two banners above was the last one he was to make before taking off (cough cough)... Anyway, I write this because I KNOW that Gus is going to check my journal entries from the States while he's away and Gus? I just want to let you know how much I appreciated your help on Friday! The banners look great! YOU ARE A SUPERSTAR.
