Saturday, December 2nd A rather social morning... Though I pretty much worked straight through the day, I had some interesting conversations with some interesting people. First, Hubert called me at the office. Note that Hubert never calls me. Gus used to live with him, and apparently he got a notice in the mail about renewing his ARC. Like a good friend, Hubert called me to see how he could get in touch with Gus while he was away. How sweet. I also mentioned that I was producing a quasi-Taipei sitcom of sorts. Hubert promptly requested that he get some play. Here you go man! Here is the gif that Gus made for the .ORG site.
![]() I also chatted online with Walter for a bit, and that was nice. I get to see him pretty soon when I head back to the U.S. for Christmas. Walter's company has a website up, so I'm putting in a plug for my buddy. Here it is: HSU DEVELOPMENT.
I still remember the good 'ole days when he was first starting out, making his first business cards and everything. Now look where we are. He's got two kids (well one more on the way). I've got two websites. Rrrright. He says he doesn't need me to help promote his company because he's got more work than he can handle. Walt dude, would you STOP saying that?

Ginny had called last night but I couldn't talk at the time, so I gave her a buzz just before lunch today to see if she was free. Yep. She was. How very unusual. She is leaving next week for the States so we won't be seeing each other until the second week of January. Her business keeps her traveling all the time it seems, this time to the U.S., then to China by way of a 2-hour stopover at the CKS Airport (nasty), then to Hong Kong for New Years and back to Taipei first week of January. Life in Taipei... so typical. She likes those Zinger burgers as much as I do. That's why we get along so well.
What's been going on in D.C. since I left 5 years ago?
Cindy, Jimmy, Justin, Anne, Nelson, all you guys who don't live there any more, check it out. It's pretty incredible. Makes me miss the life that we once had. Are any of us ever going to be living on the East coast again? Every once in a blue moon, I do wonder what my life would have been like had I never moved to Taipei. I worked like a mad dog today. I had a lot of work to do at the office, and then at night I worked on the advertising page of this site. For some reason, that wasn't easy. I also put together Monday's EB which is getting easier and easier to do. It was an interesting newsletter this time. In any case, I'm looking forward to chilling out and doing nothing tonight. It's been a long week. Sure wished I had a BOYFRIEND.
Below are final pictures of the day, me with no makeup and looking pretty rough. Also, the webcam picture function isn't all that clear, but whatever. I'll live. Other events of the day... we finally got the rest of our electricity back at the apartment. For the past few weeks Laurie, Adella, and myself had one electrical socket in each of our bedrooms that just decided to stop working, so we've been wired up in the most chaotic way to compensate until the electrician could figure out what was wrong. I am convinced that we have a "rock the house" Taiwanese ghost living with us. Harmless, but annoying. I'm beat.
