Monday, December 4th One very stressful morning... First, I had to prepare a complaint letter to American Airlines about a ridiculous error on their part that totally screwed up my travel itinerary in the U.S. All I wanted to do was change the date of the return portion of a RT ticket that I have not yet used only to have the Taipei offices change the TYPE of ticket I had such that it would expire in 3 days and then had the audacity of arguing with me on the phone as to why I needed to pay US$1,000 for a one-way ticket from D.C. to San Francisco if I wanted to fly that same route in January. Gimme a BREAK!
Supposedly it's been taken care of but since I had to mail the original ticket to AA's ticketing office in Dallas, I stuck in a little letter and could barely refrain from being outright condescending. With my luck that ticket will get lost in the mail. Laurie says I have bad karma with flight itineraries. I have to agree.

The EBs were relatively easy to send out today, and, we got a really nice letter from one of the companies that has been using the ORIENTED Jobs Database, indicating that it is the most useful resource for them to search for bilingual staff of all the other sources they use. That was nice.
I also got an unexpected money certificate from my department for NT$1,000 since my birthday is coming up. Here's a scanned-in photo (above) for the record. Doesn't it look so... Chinese?! I took it down to the post office and got my mula.
It never hurts to ask...
