Monday, December 11th Gus is back! And it's great to have him back. Gus was wearing a suit today and that means only one thing. He's doing laundry and has nothing else to wear. But I didn't say anything. LOL. He brought me a little gift from the States, a 100% Natural Herbal Therapy Pack that I can microwave and use as a heating pad for my carpal tunnel. COOL. Wennie cruised by and thought it was pretty neat too, but it's a little hard to shove back into its bag. Can't say I didn't warn her! The pictures should be switched but I'm anal about object placement. Looks much better this way.

Gus also gave me a fortune cookie, but the photo I tried to take of it didn't come out too well. Anyway, I hadn't realized how many people I knew really liked those things. Fortune cookies I mean. Darlene used to bring us BOXES of them from the restaurant when we were back in school, that were mostly for HER. No one ever realizes that fortune cookies are an "American thing" and that they do NOT exist in Asia until they get out here. Strange huh?

Today and tonight... This morning's EB was such a cinch to send out. Nothing too terribly exciting to report except that I LOVE the fact that the site, despite it's ad-hoc infrastructure, operates as a very scalable model in the sense that Gus and I do not have to do much to keep it running. Yes. I'm smirking. Once this last component goes up (the ORIENTED Yellow Pages), we'll only have to focus on the final documentation and touch ups that we've always set out to do, in the event that we decide to pass it on. Tell me I don't know what I'm doing.
I'm having dinner tonight with good 'ole Ken Allen. Ken is my old colleague back at the Council who comes out to Taiwan at least once a year to give a speech on the status of China's military defense, as he spent ten years in the P.R.C. as a military attache for the United States government. I mentioned this to my mom (that I was having dinner with Ken) and the first thing she said was, "Is HE married TOO?! Please be careful!" I think she now thinks that every man is like you-know-who. ROFL!
