Tuesday, December 26th What day is it? I don't know if it's because of the jet lag, pure exhaustion on my part, the freezing cold which I am most definitely not used to, or the fact that Mom's computer is down, but whatever it is, I can't seem to get motivated and it's made me totally lethargic. I can't appreciate it. Granted, I'm on vacation and it's suppose to be CHRISTMAS and all, but not having access to my own computer back in Taipei is driving me ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I haven't even bothered to log on until now (it's Wednesday, this is a late entry) just because.
Today's activities... I spent the afternoon running errands around town. I was looking forward to having good 'ole Taco Bell for lunch, only to discover -- after painstakingly dealing with traffic in the MALL PARKING LOT -- that it is no longer there. It's been replaced by another Mexican restaurant, and while the food was OKAY, there was only one man making all the food per order. All I could think was, "this is not a scalable business". Later, we met Richard and Dennis at the theaters to watch Charlie's Angels... this being my 3rd time. While I don't like the movie THAT much, I didn't mind seeing it again. What else is there to do in the South? I even find myself struggling to write these journal entries. If I were living here, HeyChristine.com would be a one-page site with a photo of me, my house, and my pickup truck. There would be no way to run ORIENTED from here. NO WAY.
Evening activities... After dinner, I crashed. Jet lag is making me pass out at the strangest hours. Much later, I met Tommy at a local sportsbar to play pool and ping pong. THAT was actually a lot of fun and Tommy is most entertaining, but I couldn't help but think to myself, had I never moved away from this area, I'd probably be the MANAGER of that joint... as a career! Either that or the Assistant Director of Ice Cream at the local Dairy Queen. And be good at it. Scary.
Anyway, I always see Tommy when I'm back in town. Weird how I'm still good friends with most of my ex's. I suppose that's a good thing. Rene was suppose to be back in town too but that dummy! His Delta flight got cancelled due to the pilot strikes, so he decided not to come AT ALL. What a ding dong! I did speak with Corrina earlier today, and I'm torn between going to New York for New Years or spending it with her and Alvin. And I don't suppose I'll decide until the last minute. Story of my life these days.
